Nevena's Signature Apple Tart

Our Creative Director is famous for her delicious deserts. Being a working mom during this time, she's constantly looking for ways to keep her kids and her family occupied whether it be reading new books or baking new things. Today, she's sharing her signature apple tart, a delicious family dish that's easy and fun to make.

Homemade Apple Tart

4 apples (if small, use 5)

2 cups of flour

1 1/2 cup sugar

1 cup olive oil

1 cup yogurt

4 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1/2 cup butter

2 squeezed lemons

1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Peel and slice the apples and place in 3/4 of the lemon juice.

  2. Mix eggs, flour, 1 cup sugar, oil and yogurt. When liquified, add baking powder and 1/4 of the lemon juice.

  3. In a pan, melt the butter with 1/2 cup of sugar, sprinkle with cinnamon ( or other flavor optional).

  4. Arrange apples at the bottom of the tray. Pour the melted butter evenly on top then pour the dough mixture on top.

  5. Bake at 380 degrees for about 35-40 minutes.

  6. Check the tart with a toothpick until it comes out clean.
