Where to stay:

Where to eat:

Anejo Bar on Peninsula Papagayo and Pangas in Tamarindo

Favorite dinner spot:

Nemare on Peninsula Papagayo

A must-see:

Hiking around the Arenal Volcano and Surfing in Tamarindo

Plan your perfect day in Costa Rica:

Waking up to howler monkeys in lieu of an alarm clock, followed by a family breakfast with the freshest fruit and strongest most delicious coffee! Next, a morning hike around the Peninsula where you’ll discover incredible wildlife followed by some beach time with my husband and kids. My youngest son and I like to collect shells and race hermit crabs, while my older son and husband play competitive beach football. Next stand up paddle with a snorkel – the sea life is amazing! The perfect afternoon is spent on a boat discovering new beaches and ultimately watching a majestic sunset (usually with dolphins swimming alongside). The night ends with casual low-key family dinner and early to bed!

Your signature Costa Rican look:

 Long dress and flat sandals
